37 things you might or might not know about me!

It's been a while since I have posted anything, so I thought I might start with sharing a pile of things about me, if you share any of these do let me know!

  1. The penny might drop here to why I have chosen 37 things about me... I am 37 years old (at the time of writing this anyway!)
  2. I live in Somerset.
  3. I LOVE solo camping! Nothing quite like turning feral for a few days and soaking up the peace and tranquillity camping brings.
  4. You will usually find me camping in Exmoor.
  5. I have big plans to have my own micro camper and explore a bit further a field than Exmoor!
  6. I don't actually care whether it's cream or the jam first on a scone... The most important bit is, it's destined for my belly...
  7. I have three New Forest ponies and I have had them all since babies, they still think they are babies however, they are 18, 17 and 15 years old. One still thinks she has the right to roam, despite leaving the Forest as a foal...
  8. I have six pet sheep, it's been 16 years now since my first sheep came to join me, I still don't understand how that happened! Soft touch obviously!
  9. I have a Sheep that can walk on only his back legs. Yep it's unnerving, as he is then taller than me! He is called Ray!
  10. I have a Collie dog called Moo, she loves camping and water...
  11. New for 2023 - I have an allotment! After growing various veg (lots of potatoes!) in pots in the back garden, I finally made it to the top of the waiting list for an allotment space. Yep you guessed it, I still have things growing in the back garden too...
  12. I cannot bring myself to like Tomatoes no matter now hard I try.
  13. Potatoes however, they are just the best!
  14. I am really enjoying finding my way with the allotment, trying to work with nature rather than fighting it. Still not sure if not netting the brassicas was a good choice or not... Removing and relocating caterpillars seems to be a new hobby in itself!
  15. I love to read, although I am a lazy reader; if it doesn't grip me in the first few pages - It is not for me.
  16. I love walking, exploring the Countryside on foot has to be my favourite thing.
  17. When I am solo walking, I meet so many interesting people, I love nothing more, than stopping and chatting for a few minutes, sharing each other's story.
  18. I am a little obsessed with finding as many places I can fire up my jet boil and enjoy a fresh hot chocolate.
  19. I love exploring old houses, castles, hill forts - I am constantly trying to work out if English heritage and National Trust membership is a worth while investment!
  20. I have more walking bags than I do handbags...
  21. It's always a tough choice between Summer and Autumn, I love the long Summer days, but the Autumn colours...
  22. I like collecting note books and sketchpads.
  23. Apple and Blackberry crumble is my favourite thing ever!
  24. I do like to Bake, but nothing too complicated.
  25. I LOVE Cornwall, however I am not sure I trust myself to go alone, as I may not come back.
  26. I have never travelled abroad, although I would LOVE to visit Iceland and Norway.
  27. I have a rather large houseplant collection, although I don't seem to be doing a great job of keeping them alive right now... whoops!
  28. The Salt Path series by Raynor Winn is just the best, you need to read them! It will give you a whole new perspective on life.
  29. I LOVE the concept of Minimalism, it has been a huge influence on the way I live my life, and the way I choose to camp, taking only the essentials. Apparently it doesn't apply to notebooks and sketchpads though...
  30. Heated blankets are the best thing ever! I didn't realise I needed one in my life until I got one for Christmas.
  31. Following on with that theme, my heated coat is just perfection!
  32. Despite the last two points, I don't really get bothered by the cold, I am usually the first person in shorts in the Spring, and that weirdo still wearing shorts in the Winter when everyone else is in coats and woolly hats...
  33. Pineapple does belong on Pizza.
  34. Pancakes are the best thing ever for Breakfast, closely followed my Chocolate Croissants.
  35. A while ago I read somewhere that growing veg, and buying seeds are two entirely different hobbies, I feel that...
  36. Despite not being the greatest fan of Christmas, I love a Christmas market. Dunster by Candlelight has to be my favourite, closely followed by Bath Christmas market, the Brownie stand is just perfection.
  37. Trying not to fall into to the Christmas theme here as its August (just!) But my Christmas dinner is Pizza... with Pineapple...
